Latest Installment of Public Pretenders

The wait has been a long one, but the second installment of Public Pretenders has finally arrived.  Join Meg and Jessica as they continue their search for answers in the Darionne Willis case.

This book features a whole new cast of characters, in addition to the familiar faces from Book One.  Work with the characters to unravel the conspiracies, lies, and villains all hiding in plain sight.

Now Available!

A few months ago I announced that a new book was coming down the pipeline.  As usually happens, life interrupted the plans. However, I am pleased to announce that after months of careful editing and refining, Walking Through Fog: A Christian Perspective on Fibromyalgia hit the digital bookshelves this weekend.

Walking Through Fog covers a variety of topics honing in on big issues like anxiety and depression as related to chronic illness, choosing treatments, dealing with changing relationships, and a host of other related subjects relevant to those facing Fibromyalgia or another similar chronic condition.

This is a bit of a breakaway from my previous work of fiction, Public Pretenders, which dealt with lawyers and the struggles of the lowly assistant public defenders against the local political machine.  While I hope to pursue both fiction and non-fiction in the future, I am glad to see another work come full circle.  This latest book serves as an extension of my blog Walking Through Fog, which takes life circumstances of chronic illness and attempts to make sense of it through a worldview of faith.  It's my hope to also continue writing more in this genre in an effort to encourage the chronic illness community.

You can find this book for sale on Amazon by clicking on the picture of the cover above.  It should shortly also release a paperback edition for $6.99.

New Book Coming Soon...

Now that the ice has been broken and the first book has been launched without the world's timeline collapsing in on itself or anything else threatening the universe, it seems like a good time to announce the next book hitting Amazon in the near future.  This book is a work of non-fiction and is closely tied to my blog on Fibromyalgia.  It's going to be called Walking Through Fog and will adapt some of the major posts as well as some new material that's finishing up revision and final proofreading as we speak.

While it's an entirely different genre than Public Pretenders, I am actually a bit more excited about this new one.  Sharing your writing for the first time is always a risk.  What if nobody reads it?  What if lots of people read it and nobody likes it?  This is standard for any creativity-based occupation.  While fiction is a moderate risk, often exposing just how bizarre your imagination can get, sharing your personal journey with chronic illness is exponentially higher on the vulnerability scale.

I am nervous at sharing this for the first time, but I am also excited because of the opportunity it presents to open the conversation about chronic illness and mental health.  These are topics that most people are afraid to talk about, but with so many people dealing with it on a daily basis, it needs to be addressed.  It's my hope that this new book will be a chance to reach out to the chronically ill community and beyond in a genuine effort to build communication and trust.   More to come in the near future...

And We're Off...

Welcome to the site.  It's been a long time in coming, but my first book Public Pretenders is now out for all to see and enjoy. It's available on Amazon in both Kindle and paperback by clicking here.
This website is a consolidated place to share updates on new projects I'm working on, as well as giving me a way to reach out to readers with periodic polls and questions as a way of getting feedback and answering questions.
To all of you who have been there for this crazy journey so far, saying thanks doesn't quite cover it.  All I can say is this wouldn't be happening without you.   To everyone who encouraged me to participate in NaNoWriMo this past November, and to those who put up with hearing the constant stream of ideas for plot twists and new characters--thanks. :)  You know who you are.
